Australian Youth Orchestra recording day. So thrilled to be back in the studio on Sunday 13 February, working with the fabulous AYO team to record 8 new Fanfares by young composers aged 12-21 – Cassie Parke (NSW), Phillip Cullen (NSW), Charlie Wells (SA), Annika Ganesh & mum (SA), Floyd Taylor (Tas), Will Hartley-Keane (Vic), Raphael Luxton (WA), Bonnie Cook (WA). The recordings will be heard this year in professional venues across Australia.

Who’s conducting the AYO Fanfare orchestra? We are joined by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Assistant Conductor Carlo Antonioli. Carlo has also recently been announced as the MSO’s Cybec Assistant Conductor Fellow for 2022. He has taken part in a number of emerging conductor programs including the Symphony Services International Conductor Development Program and the inaugural Australian Conducting Academy with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra in 2018, read more.

For those into film! If filmmaking is your passion, Artology is also partnering with Spring Bay Mill to present the Very Short Film Festival. Applicants are required to submit a two to five-minute film which includes a reference to the competition’s 2022 theme ‘spring’, with prizes offered in the junior category (21 years of age or under at the time of entry) and the open category, find out how to enter…
