We invite you to hear their pieces performed by the Adelaide Youth Orchestras conducted by six Elder Conservatorium students – Vivian Horn, David Le Guen, Oliver Scott, Leanne Puttick, Tommy Ng and Jasen Scott and mentored by Luke Dollman.

About the Program

To Country is a new program asking young people to create a short one-minute musical acknowledgement of country in respect to our first peoples. The composers have workshopped their pieces with Christopher Sainsbury, Australian Indigenous composer, performer and associate professor at ANU in Canberra.

The Fanfare Competition invites young people to submit a 30-second composition played to assist the theatre bells, calling patrons to their seats at select performing arts venues across Australia. Now in its ninth year the competition has received over 1,800 entries.

The composers were mentored by Lyle Chan, Nicholas Vines, Christopher Sainsbury, Jessica Wells and Nicole Murphy.

This special concert event, in partnership with the Adelaide Youth Orchestras and the Elder Conservatorium, is the world premiere of all 12 compositions.
