  • Connect : Uniting people and ideas through the arts

WE BELIEVE

  • Creativity is our most valuable human resource.
  • Creative thinking is under-valued.
  • Fostering creativity enriches live’s and society.

Artology empowers creatives and storytellers to create authentic, bold, and impactful works, enabling them to share their perspectives with the world and drive meaningful social change.

As a dedicated not-for-profit Arts organisation, we’re committed to developing impactful programs and fostering a supportive community for Australian creatives. Our mission is to nurture the creative spirit across various disciplines, including music, film, performance, and more.

Since launching in 2013, our story is rich with successes from individuals who started their artistic journey with an Artology program. Our tailored mentoring approach has nurtured budding talents, helping them achieve success and make significant contributions to Australia’s cultural landscape.

Artology fills a crucial niche in the arts sector, providing customised mentoring and workshop opportunities. We’re committed to cultivating the next generation of composers, filmmakers, or performers, encouraging them to develop and share their unique talents and visions.

We envision a vibrant Australian arts community where every creative individual is empowered to express and share their unique perspectives with the world. By capturing the diverse voices from all corners of Australia, we are dedicated to driving forward meaningful social change through the arts.

ARTOLOGY BOARD AND MANAGEMENT

ANNA CERNEAZ, DIRECTOR

About Anna Cerneaz

Anna Cerneaz started her professional life as an oceanographer. However, her lifelong interest in the arts, notably as an oboe player and concertgoer, soon channelled her career in an entirely different direction. Over a number of years, she built up her own artistic management business; among the many positions she held during that time was as general manager of Pinchgut Opera.

In the past decade, Anna has honed her company director skills in a very practical way. She is currently a director of several for-profit and not-for-profit organisations, including the Graeme Wood Foundation, which supports progressive thinking and action, Artology, Spring Bay Mill, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Syrinscape.

Anna’s greatest wish is that by developing the creative development of the young (and not-so-young), the current not-so-rosy prognosis of Homo sapiens can be rescued via deep immersion in the glorious worlds of nature and music.

GRAEME WOOD AM, DIRECTOR

About Graeme Wood

Graeme Wood AM is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and environmentalist who has more wins than failures so far. He believes in investing for positive social impact and changing the world to become a better place through business. He likes businesses that both make money and solve real world problems.

Graeme & his partner Anna Cerneaz are the current custodians of Spring Bay Mill. Once home to the world’s largest wood chip mill and built on the unceded lands of the paredarerme people, this 43-hectare site is now managed by a bunch of provocateurs intent on charting a sustainable path.

His philanthropic interests include environmental sustainability, the Arts and public interest journalism through Guardian Australia.

COLIN CORNISH, DIRECTOR

About Colin Cornish

Colin Cornish joins the Artology Board in 2021. Colin is the Chief Executive Officer at the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

TAMARA SVIRSKIS, HEAD OF PROGRAMS & MARKETING

About Tamara Svirskis

Tamara brings commercial and non profit sector experience to the team. With a marketing and events background, she brings a unique blend of creativity with analytical skills. She is passionate about providing people with opportunities, affecting change and storytelling, which led her to join the Artology and Very Short Film Festival team.

Tamara has led various Marketing departments and is both strategic as well as hands-on. Previously Tamara was Head of Marketing at Mindful in May; and Opportunity International Australia, both leadership positions.  Her commercial experience includes marketing roles at Foxtel, and within advertising agencies across leading global brands including Microsoft, WWF and O2 mobile.

Her creative projects include screenwriting for film and television and she throws her hat in the ring at stand up comedy (amateur!).

She is passionate about film and the power of storytelling to connect people together, to touch and even mend hearts.
