Get creative this Easter break!
The Easter break is a excellent opportunity to start composing for this year’s competition. You can submit an attention grabbing 30 second Fanfare, a longer one minute To Country composition or why not enter both! Submission deadline is Monday 6 June 2022. Find out more, here.

Congratulations to the 12 composers whose fanfares were recorded live by the Sydney Youth Orchestra on Sunday 3 April. Big thank you to the SYO’s team and conductor Steve Williams. It was a great, fun learning experience. The SYO Philharmonic recorded fanfares by Abhinav Ananth, Andrew Dharma, Ashton Parris, Billie Clow, Catrin Wood, Charlotte Leamon, Heath Jelovic, Johnny Yang, Jonah Eskander, Rhys Owen, Sujin Kang and Zoe Gougousidis.

If film is your thing you should consider entering the Very Short Film Festival. Great cash prizes in both Junior (up to 21 years) and Open categories for short films 2 to 5mins. Work with our mentors Leah Purcell, Nell Greenwood, Justin Kurzel, Leta Keens, Rocco Fazzari and Bain Stewart. Submission deadline is Monday 25 April 2022. Artology is delighted to partner on the Red Room Poetry’s 2022 Poem Forest Prize. The Poem Forest nature writing prize invites students and teachers to use their words to make positive climate action and every entry plants a tree at the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan.

The Bundian Way is a new multi-media experience at this year’s Canberra International Music Festival. From the peak of Mount Kosciuszko to the ocean, the Bundian Way is a track that marks a path to reconciliation. Inspired by John Blay’s novel ‘On Track: Searching out the Bundian Way’, the project features new works by Kate Neal, Brenda Gifford, Damian Barbeler and Eric Avery plus a reading by John Blay himself on May 7 & 8 at 2.30pm. Supported by the Graeme Wood Foundation.
